The Art of
Traditional Horsemanship

The tradition of Spanish Vaquero horsemanship originated in riding schools and on the battlefields of Europe.  Born in Classical Dressage, these skills were adapted to work cattle in the western United States.  While training our horses, we strive to preserve the philosophies utilized by these great horsemen, regardless of a horse's breed or purpose.  These time-tested techniques produce happy, willing horses who learn proper self-carriage through a blend of groundwork preparation, lateral exercises and patience.  If cattle working skills are desired, the same methodical approach is used in order to preserve the integrity of good stockmanship and to train the horse without fear or tension.  Our desire is to achieve the horse owner's goals, from showing to pleasure riding, by using this art of traditional horsemanship.
